Who are we?
Bristol Politics Society is a society open to all students providing an openminded political platform, not just those reading Politics. Joining our society will assist you in building prospects for the future as well as meeting new people and having fun!
What do we do?
We aim to support not only your academic journey but the social side of your university experience as well. Socially, we aim to host a wide range of events from pub evenings and quiz nights, to a yearly trip abroad! Don’t miss out on the chance to be part of one of our society families, with parents in older years and like-minded siblings. We are also offering the chance to join a Politics sports team such as netball which is a great way to meet people and get outside! In terms of academics, we offer interesting talks, Careers Week (commencing 09/11), impressive sponsorship opportunities and access to an ever-growing alumni network.
What can you do if you have a problem?
This years committee have already created the new and vital role of a Wellbeing and Equalities officer, who heads the Wellbeing and Equalities Board. This member of the committee acts as a direct link for any support you require; there is also a form that members can fill out to file a complaint or to report any event that may have negatively affected your UBPS experience.
When and where do we publish events?
Keep an eye on our social media pages (Facebook/Instagram) and sign up to our mailing list to be the first to find out about what we are up to and events we are hosting!
How are we adapting to a Covid world?
With our digital revamp underway we are quickly modifying the way we work to accommodate your every need. Families will be of six and under so that you can socialise within government guidelines and we already have some careers events and exciting talks lined up virtually. Larger socials will also be organised to meet Covid requirements.
What companies do we work with?
As a society, we are currently ambassadors for the Javelin Group and PSMi, both top tier management consultancy firms who offer our members CV, interview and application advice. We have also teamed up with the London Financial Journal, who publish research by university students; this is a great platform to exhibit your work for employers and academics to read as well as joining a network of like-minded successful individuals.
